Leaks under the sink
Check the cupboard under your sink now and then. Common culprits are the trap, the waste connection, the flexible tap tails and appliance hoses. A slow drip can soak the cupboard base for months unnoticed.
Blocked kitchen sinks
Fat and oil go down as liquid and set as they cool, catching food scraps until the pipe closes. Wipe greasy pans with kitchen roll first. If the sink is already slow, clearing the trap (with a bowl underneath) sometimes sorts it. Avoid strong chemical cleaners, which can damage older pipes.
New kitchens
Plumbing needs planning before units go in. We can move supply and waste pipes, fit isolation valves for the sink and each appliance, connect everything once units are fitted, and check the existing pipework while it’s exposed. It’s a good time to check for lead too: Bristol Water says homes built before the 1970s could have lead pipework.
Staff kitchens and canteens
Kitchens at work take heavy use, and fat is the main cause of blocked drains in business premises. We repair taps, sinks and waste, plumb in appliances, and clear blockages, out of hours if that’s easier.
